Robolabs Teams Compete Out of State

Robolabs Fremont Team 3457F and Dublin Team 3457A made the journey to the University of Maine to compete at the Lobstah Bowl VEX V5 Robotics Competition Signature Event. The event drew top teams from across the U.S. and Canada, creating fierce competition. Both of our teams delivered stellar performances, advancing to the quarter-finals, with Team 3457A earning the Judges Award for their outstanding creativity and teamwork. Congratulations to all who participated!

VEX AI Team Makes Significant Progress

Our VEX AI team has been hard at work, developing and refining their path-planning algorithm to take performance to the next level. They’ve explored various techniques, each offering distinct advantages:

Dijkstra’s Algorithm: Guarantees the shortest path, ideal for precise navigation.

A* Algorithm: Balances speed and accuracy with intelligent guessing.

Rapidly-Exploring Random Trees (RRT): Quickly finds paths in complex environments, perfect for handling unexpected obstacles.

D* Lite: Adapts to dynamic environments, crucial for real-time adjustments during matches.

On top of this, the team has been fine-tuning their game strategies, learning about different hanging mechanisms to maximize points in competition. With their dedication and ingenuity, they’re on track for a standout season!
